Masterplan & amenities

At the center of Casas Damara lies the living heart of the community: a ring of shaded ramadas and open-air spaces scattered among our biopools and irrigation reservoir. Designed to support long exhales with the natural world, this communal space welcomes all of life’s expression, from working to playing, eating to healing, creating to simply being.

The Casa Damara retreat shala at dusk

Retreat Center

Our biggest amenity is a retreat center that forms the pulse of the community. The Shala, designed by Pablo Luna Studio, is home to workshops, ceremonies, activations, music offerings, and gatherings for women, men, couples, and families. At the center of everything lies the living heart of the community: a ring of shaded ramadas and open-air spaces gathered around our biopools and irrigation reservoir — places to work, create, eat, play, heal, and simply be. The greatest gift we offer is not a building, but the weekly activations born here: cacao ceremonies, men’s circles, family constellations, breathwork, and full-moon sound journeys.

The open living room and kitchen at Casa Damara reception

Welcome Home Reception

Step through the gate and the world softens. This is the living room and open kitchen you always wished you had: warm wood underfoot, the smell of fresh tortillas on the comal, a long table already set with hibiscus agua fresca and a bowl of limes. Slip off your shoes, let the kids raid the fruit basket or the canasta of warm pan dulce. Someone is always here — barefoot, smiling, ready to pour you coffee or pull you into a hug. This isn’t a front desk. This is the heart of the house, and the moment you arrive, you are family.

Surfboards ready at the Casa Damara activities center

Activities Center

The deepest bonds are forged side-by-side. Here mindfulness becomes motion: sunrise surf sessions, mountain-bike rides through cactus forests, mornings pressing seeds into warm soil, afternoons harvesting dinner with your children. Boards, bikes, garden tools, and stories wait at the Activities Center — our gathering fire for every Baja adventure that teaches presence through sweat and love through shared doing.

Preparing a fresh, plant-centered meal

Restaurant & Cooking School

Our restaurant is the living heartbeat of the community: sun-drenched family tables overflowing with the day’s harvest, served with stories and second helpings of joy. The same space becomes our cooking school — hands in soil in the morning, hands in masa by afternoon — learning the quiet medicine of seasonal, plant-centered meals grown steps away. Every bite is a prayer, every shared plate a ceremony that feeds body, lineage, and land.

Books at the Casa Damara reading library

Reading Library

A quiet oasis of woven rugs, hammock chairs, and sunlight. Bring your little ones for morning story circles under the palms, or slip away when the soul asks for silence. The shelves hold the voices of wisdom keepers like Ram Dass, Thich Nhat Hanh, Robin Wall Kimmerer, and Martín Prechtel, alongside children’s books that speak straight to wonder. Borrow anything, curl up, and disappear into pages that breathe with the land.

Clay and tools in the Casa Damara art barn

Art Barn & Music Room

Art is expression, medicine, and prayer in one breath. Walk into the sun-washed Art Barn any day and find tables spilling with paints, clay, brushes, fabrics, and desert treasures waiting for your hands. Next door, the Music Room — our living temple of sound — is open daily for hand-pan circles, djembe fire jams, cajón lessons, and guided sound journeys, and can be reserved for pristine podcast recordings or solo sessions.

Working from the Casa Damara coworking sanctuary

Coworking Sanctuary

A conscious workspace woven into the rhythm of the land, designed to deepen your flow without pulling you away from the pulse of community. Dual Starlink Priority dishes deliver steady 200–300 Mbps with near-zero downtime, keeping you securely connected to the world while rooted right here. Sun-drenched biophilic interiors, private soundproof pods for calls, and open communal tables invite spontaneous collaboration beneath the Baja sky.

The Sol Shala

Sol Shala

The home of masculine energy work: men’s circles, breath & ice journeys, drum councils, and silent sunrise meditations. Bare feet on cool stone, voices low and strong, hearts cracking open under the Baja stars. A place to remember what it means to protect, provide, and truly belong.

The Luna Shala

Luna Shala

A soft round house of adobe and moonlight, wrapped in flowering vines. Here the feminine is honored in circle: red tents, womb wisdom, cacao ceremonies, dance, grief rituals, and new-moon song. A sanctuary where women are witnessed without performance — where tears, laughter, and ancient remembering flow as freely as the ocean outside.

The temazcal at the spa & plunge sanctuary

Spa & Plunge Sanctuary

A small stone oasis tucked between palms: wood-fired cedar sauna, cold plunge carved from river rock, a traditional temazcal, and a warm herbal soaking tub under the open sky. Move between fire and ice, breath and stillness. Let the heat draw out what no longer serves; let the cold remind you you’re alive. Simple, primal, and profoundly healing.

The resort-style saltwater pool at Casa Damara

Resort-Style Saltwater Pool

In the heart of Casa Damara sparkles our sweeping saltwater pool — soft on the skin, easy on the eyes, and vast enough for morning laps or lazy afternoon floats. Smooth stone edges and a gentle beach entry for little ones, where the water glows turquoise under the Baja sun. By day it rings with laughter; by night it turns into a liquid mirror for the stars.

Walking the trails through the Casa Damara landscape

Walking Trails

A lacework of earthen paths circles the entire community and beyond — winding through mango groves and flowering perennial gardens, through the living farm, climbing gently to lookouts where the Pacific suddenly appears like a promise. Walk at sunrise with a coffee in hand, run at golden hour, or stroll after dinner beneath a sky thick with stars. These trails are the quiet veins of Casa Damara.
