The land and community at Casa Damara

SOCIAL IMPACT

As a guest on this ancient and sacred land, Casa Damara is committed to a model of mutual reciprocity. We currently engage our neighbours in two of the region’s most critical needs — education and food access — and give a fixed share of every sale back to the place that holds us.

1%

of gross home sales is donated to progressively minded educational anchors in our region — a permanent line in every transaction, not a one-time gesture.

Casa Damara donates 1% of gross home sales to Mareas Montessori and La Palapa Society’s high school — educational anchors shaping the Pescadero and Todos Santos communities, respectively.

Food Sovereignty

More than half of Baja’s population lives with uncertainty about where their next meal will come from — unacceptable in a place this abundant. In partnership with the Alianza para la Seguridad Alimentaria de BCS, Casa Damara hosts free monthly farm workshops and regular speakers on permaculture, biodynamic farming, multicrop and no-till methods, carbon capture, and organic inputs — reminding local elders and farmers of the abundance already in their hands.

Shared Abundance

Five percent of everything grown leaves the gate as quiet gifts to Pescadero families. Neighbouring farmers sell alongside us at our rent-free co-op stand — direct-to-consumer access that lowers their risk while keeping the region’s food local, fresh, and in relationship.

Real sovereignty means turning sun and soil into abundance that pays the land — and its people — back many times over.
